Thinking about starting a business? Are you overwhelmed with all of the decisions you are facing? Isn’t it exciting and scary all at the same time? Thought I would share a few of the basics you will need to put into place on the internet. Every business today has to have an online presence and more importantly must have a system in place for capturing contact information.

So if I were starting a business from scratch today and I wanted to make a small investment to get the basics in place while my business evolved I would do this.

Starting a Business

1. Set up a Facebook Fanpage and use it as my website for a short time. I would do this because I don’t know anyone that sets up a website when they launch their business that has not had to change it anywhere from six months to a year after building it. A fanpage will allow you to promote your business while you are still evaluating who you want to be. But I would make the small investment in Faceitpages: That will allow you to create a fanpage that is attractive and functions well.
2. The second thing you must have is a service that will provide the opt-in form and email marketing options with auto responders and newsletter options. This is critical to your success. Your visitors will not purchase from you upon their first visit and most will never return. So to get an opportunity to market to them you must capture their contact information.
Now you have the tools needed to communicate your knowledge and value to your peeps. Once you have everything in place then invite everyone you know to like your fanpage and learn more about why you are starting a business. Don’t be shy about the fact that you are starting a business, be bold and confident.
