Writing content for any business new or old can prove to be difficult. So how do you get yourself out of that rut and stir your creativity when writing content for your business, I suppose that is the question at hand.
Each person has their own techniques on getting their creativity out and into their writing.  Here are a few tips that have helped me.

Tip One

One tip that many writers use is to just write. I first learned this practice when I read Writing Down the Bones by Natalie Goldberg  I really like her style and I prefer the audio version because I love her delivery.  Natalie refers to monkey brain and writing practice and like anything else it takes practice to get comfortable with constantly writing content.  If you are like me you become  a perfectionist when trying to write something professionally. So, instead of letting your mind shut down just sit in front of your computer or personally notepad and write whatever comes to mind. You can always go back and edit later, you may even like what you have written. This method works best if you start with a clear mind. Relax a little before you get to writing.

Tip Two

Another tip you may want to consider, you should not try to search for examples from other sources if you can help it. If you look at what others have written without even realizing it, you could copy something from an example that you read. This would not be commendable, you need your content to be completely original.  It can also put you in the space of comparing your writing to others–which can be a bad thing.

Tip Three

When I am writing content I find myself self editing as I write which never delivers good content.  With writing you tend to want everything to be flawless, this adds stress. Release yourself from the stress, grab a notepad and take notes. Later the notes will help you to form coherent sentences.  A few moments of silence (meditation) can help to clear your mind and put you in a better space.

Tip Four

Sometimes looking at content from a different industry can help to ignite your creativity.  For myself I might look at home design magazines or cooking sites and sometimes the way they present their content will give me ideas for my own content.  See if this will jump start your creativity, it may be worth a try.
One very important fact when writing content is not to overwhelm yourself. If you work on something for too long it is almost guaranteed that your creativity will slip away once again. Getting it to come back a second time always proves harder. When I look at the backside of my site at the blog posts I have several drafts, some of them will become blog posts some of them will never see the light of day.
Find a couple of methods that help you and use them when you need to stir your creativity when writing content.
